Manchester United 2 - 1 Chelsea

Manchester United are through to the Champions League Semi Finals at the expense of Chelsea. The pressure surrounding, Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti will no doubt entensify.

Chelsea's hopes of getting some sort of silverware this season fell in the Champions League after a premier league season that sees them sat in 3rd place more than 10 points adrift of the top of the league. No luck in either the FA Cup or the Carling Cup they were even described as being obsessed to win the Champions League trophy by United manager Sir Alex Ferguson before the game.

On the night a goal from Javier Hernandez just before half time left United 2-0 up on aggregate. After the break £50 million striker Fernando Torres got subbed for Didier Drogba after yet another poor showing. Drogba did the business in the 77th minute when he got free in the United penalty area. Faced with Van Der Sar one on one, Drogba slotted the ball straight past the Dutchman.

Chelsea were back in it, they only needed one more goal from the last 13 minutes to be able to go through on the away goals ruling. However their joy was short lived. A minute later United were on the attack, the ball was at Ryan Giggs' feet who played a well composed ball over the Chelsea defence to Korean Ji Sung Park. Park came up with another vitally important goal and finished past the Chelsea keeper.

At 3-1 on Aggregate the game was just too far away for Chelsea and signals the end of a very disappointing season.

.... Isn't all bad though, Chelsea's on loan striker Daniel Sturridge is banging em in up at Bolton!

Unbelievable David Beckham

Real or Fake??

Justin Bieber signed for Barcelona?

Looking at this video on youtube, it looks like Justin Bieber may have actually been touted as a possible signing for FC Barcelona. Left footed JB showed he had a comfortable left foot on him and good tidy touches. He was able to keep the ball close to his body whilst also taking on the opponent.

It really does look like his football skills are as good as his singing skills!

Wayne Rooney scored the only goal of the game against English Rivals Chelsea and this time, he didn't stare like a mad man at the camera whilst shouting abuse.
The goal came midway through the first half when a marvelous ball got played over Boswinga and veteran welsh winger Ryan Giggs took the ball in his stride, ran to the byline and played the ball back to Wayne Rooney. Rooney sidefooted the ball towards goal which rebounded off the post and went in to the back of the net.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres still hasn't scored for chelsea (Click here for funny site xD) yet but he did however look like a more lively Torres than he has done previously. Drogba on the other hand was dictating play and looked a lot more lively but he was substituted rather than the non goal scoring Torres. Almost as if Abramovich is telling Chelsea manager, Carlo Ancelotti to keep the £50 million rated striker on the pitch, to get his monies worth for him.
Late on in the second half Chelsea should have had a penalty when Brazillian midfielder Ramires got hacked down by last man Patrice Evra. The referee gave nothing which would have been a definate sending off for Evra, who would have then gone on to miss the second leg.

Real Madrid comfortably beat Spurs in the end which was to be expected. However spurs got a man sent off 20 minutes into the game, Peter Crouch, which really didn't help their cause. Real then went on to dominate play and have more than 30 shots on goal.

Looks like its over

Sadly all evidence of Rooney swearing has been removed from youtube :(

The Premier League title race looks like its over, sadly Wayne Rooneys outbursts with the English fans doesn't.

So with only 7 games left for Manchester United before the end of the league they are now 7 points clear and although Arsenal have a game in hand it looks almost certain that United won't drop enough points for Arsenal to claw the gap back.

Saturday gave 45 minutes of hope for Arsenal fans with United going into half time 2-0 down to relegation candidates West Ham United. Two penalties gave the home side the winning margin however after the interval United manager went more attacking and Wayne Rooney got a goal back thanks to a free kick just outside the area. His second came shortly after when the England striker controlled the ball with one touch then buried the ball in to the corner of the net with his second. The comeback was turned in to a lead when United got a penalty which Rooney converted. Whilst celebrating Rooney ran over to the fans and spotted a camera, his words that were said to the camera got picked up by the Sky Sports cameras and he will now face disciplinary from the FA. United then made it 4-2 thanks to another goal by substitute Hernandez.
